Where is Cactus Garden in Lanzarote?
The Cactus Garden of Lanzarote is located right in the heart of the area’s own cactus nation. Hundreds of acres dedicated to cactus plants that are growing for the exclusive cultivation of the Tunera cacti. The Cactus Garden is surrounded by even more cacti than the 4,500 specimens that exist inside of its borders.

Can you get by bus to the Cactus garden?
You can most certainly get to the Cactus Garden by bus! In fact, it’s just a 20-minute ride from Tahiche Alto to the Cactus Garden, and that will cost you approximately £3 total. These buses, the numbers 7, 9, and 26, run semi-regularly between these two locations.
The number 9 bus seems to be the most popular with visitors. You can catch it from Arrecife Bus Station. Alternatively, why not try a tour of Lanzarote that includes a visit to the Cactus Garden? These tours are plentiful, and you won’t need to worry about travel because the coach will take you to each location with plenty of time for you to explore.
What’s the best time to see Jardín de Cactus?
As with any tourist attraction, it’s always best to go to a facility very early in the morning or later in the afternoon. These time periods will help you avoid the usual crowds of visitors that will typically plague places like the Cactus Garden; particularly in the summer months when families are visiting the islands of Spain.
Cactus Garden Lanzarote opening times
From July to September, the Cactus Garden is open between the hours of 9 am and 5:45 pm. These are extended summer hours which allow the establishment to open earlier for the flocks of guests that come to view the cacti.
The rest of the time that the Cactus Garden is open, you can expect the staff to open the doors at 10 am and close them at 5:45 pm. There are several facilities in the Cactus Garden that are open during this time; including a snack bar, a gift shop, and guest toilets.
Cactus garden Lanzarote entrance fee
Entrance into the Cactus Garden is wonderfully inexpensive. No matter your age, you can get in for less than 6 euros. Adults are 5 euros and 80 cents, while children up to the age of twelve are 2 euros and 90 cents. A family of two adults and two children would be able to visit the Cactus Garden for less than 18 euros in total.
Parking is free at the Cactus Garden, too; so you won’t need to worry about adding on parking fees. There’s also complimentary WiFi!
How many cactus will you see?
You’ll see many different cacti at the Cactus Garden. There are over 10,000 different plants that are showcased throughout the year at this establishment, with more than 4,500 different species of cacti that are growing inside and around the Cactus Garden.
It truly is an extraordinary place to visit. The Cactus Garden comprises of one of the world’s best collections of cacti. The cacti are displayed against a giant bowl that is created from an old quarry. The steep terraces echo the patterns of the walls surrounding the local cacti fields.
Not in this count of the actual cacti plants in the Cactus Garden is the giant cactus sculpture that stands over the main entrance. This feature is eight metres high, impossible to miss, and includes typical cactus spikes.
Try cactus burger at Jardín de Cactus
The Cactus Garden Bar comes to life at lunchtime. The restaurant overlooks the garden of cacti, and there’s an area covered by shade so that you can eat inside. But if you prefer to eat indoors, that’s possible too, with their interior of beautiful, solid wood. The menu has plenty of great choices.
You can choose from tapas, a fresh panini, ice cream, cool drinks, or just go straight for their popular cactus burger! This beautifully green burger is made from pear cactus and potato, mixed with onion and corn. All of the ingredients of the burger and sourced from local places. The burgers, themselves, are made from cacti that are grown in Teguise; though they are transported to be prepared in San Bartolome. This is a vegan-friendly dish by itself with the tomato sesame bun. Completely fresh and beautiful to behold.
There’s the option to have the burger with a yoghurt sauce, rocket leaves, and smoked goat’s cheese; these additions give the cactus burger another level of flavour. It’s super healthy and tastes great!
Gift Shop
The gift shop at the Cactus Garden offers a range of products created by local artisans. But that’s not all you can find in this wonderful little store – there’s also a bunch of natural cosmetics on sale here, as well as cacti that you can take home with you.
If you do choose to buy something, make sure that you know the customs regulations for the country you’re returning to. No one wants to get stopped at the airport because they tried to bring home unlabelled food items or strange products.
Like the garden, the gift shop is open from 9 am to 5:45 pm during most of the year. You, of course, get that extra early hour to shop during the summer months. The gift shop is a very unique part of the Cactus Garden experience. The exterior is a natural-looking stone building in a round shape, while the interior plays host to a cactus-style light fitting.
How much time do you need at Cactus garden?
Like any holiday attraction, you don’t want to spend all day at the Cactus Garden unless you’re a nature-lover or a cacti enthusiast. If that is the case, then with the food and drink facilities and the gift shop, you probably could spend a good part of a day here. If not, and you’re just wanting to come and have a quick look at the wonders of the Cactus Garden, then a couple of hours is the perfect amount for your visit.
